You Got Me (2009)

AlfredoI’ve been busy re-recording a song I wrote and performed back in college. I recently got a copy of Logic Express for my Mac. This is a fantastic piece of software; a multi-track recording program. On this song, I play all the instruments (acoustic guitar, electric 12 string, and electric bass guitar), and sing the vocal parts. I ended up using 19 different tracks. The song is best enjoyed with headphones, so you can hear all the subtle guitar parts mixed at different points in the stereo field. I consider this more of a learning experience; a good way to learn Logic Express. Of course every time I listen to it, I think of another tweak I should make… This is a rough mix, and I haven’t read the chapter on Mastering yet, so it still needs a bit more polish. Anyway, I wanted to get it out there so my friends and family can hear it. I hope you enjoy it!

sorta Gilbert O’sullivan with George Harrison on lead.

Very nice Alfredo. And I love the photo that you put up there with it. LOL. Greatness.

Awesome! I like the effect on the acoustic -prominent on the bridge – what is that one called?

    • Alfredo Jahn Says:

Are you talking about the solo part? That’s the electric 12. I have about 5 different acoustic parts. Only effects are compressor, limiter and a little reverb. I did play one of the parts with a capo up the neck. Kind of a high twangy sound. Glad you liked it.

I’m so glad you are playing again and that magnificent 12 string is out of the closet! I like the song. It has a very 1966 feel to it. Are you using an amp or just plugging into the computer?

    • Alfredo Jahn Says:

Tom, good to hear from you. Hey I just added a new song. It too has the 12 in it. Hope you like it.
